One of the phenomenons of the last twelve months on the Interwebs has been the craze of people ‘rick rolling’ one another, that is, to trick one or more people into listening to or viewing Rick Astley’s ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ hit from the eighties.
Most of the time, it is simply a link to the music video on YouTube, disguised as a different link. For example, I could post a link on Twitter saying how good a particular film trailer is, but when you click it, you get ‘rick rolled’ and are exposed to the track. However, the standard of ‘rick rolling’ is getting higher, and I’ve just spent about nine minutes laughing my bollocks off at one of the best I’ve seen yet.
