At last, after the quirky and brilliantly scripted ‘Burn After Reading’ (one of my favourite Coen films if not the most universally well received they have ever made) the Coen Brothers are back with ‘A Serious Man’, due for November release in the UK. IMDB.com have a brief synopsis up:
A black comedy set in 1967 and centered on Larry Gopnik (Stuhlbarg), a Midwestern professor who watches his life unravel when his wife prepares to leave him because his inept brother (Kind) won’t move out of the house.
Here’s the trailer:
I’m liking what I see, and it is certainly one of the more interesting trailers I’ve ever seen for a Coen Brothers release. The cast isn’t full of well known Hollywood names, but I don’t expect that to make a blind bit of difference with ‘A Serious Man’ as the Coen Brothers have a habit of delivering the goods time and time again.
