Well it certainly has been a while since Le Blog got updated. I’ve been away on holiday, laboured away in Bernie’s garden for nearly two weeks getting ready for Anna & Mike’s Wedding, and have generally been trying to get back into the swing of things as I slowly creep towards September. Now is as good a time as any to exclaim: “I’m going to University!!!’. There, done.
I logged into UCAS this morning, and low and behold, I received a Distinction Distinction Merit for my BTEC National Diploma in Interactive Media & Moving Image, giving me the 280 points I need to confirm my place on the BA (Hons) Cinema & Photography undergraduate degree at The University of Leeds. I was more nervous than I realised in the lead up to the results, but it’s all done now and I have to focus on preparing myself for life in’t Yorkshire.
At the moment I’m busy trying to put a front onto my alter ago ‘Bad Wolf Productions’, the name I’ll be operating under in terms of the media that I produce on my own and with friends. I’m planning a small photo shoot to capture moving and still images for my ‘ident’ clips as well as providing me with images to help build a small website to go on the currently empty badwolfproductions.com. In addition to the branding and the website, I’m trying to come up with a set of legal documents I can use as templates during my productions; image & location release, copyright and health & safety stuff.
I’m fully aware of the fact that I need to put some time into ‘Park of the Dead’ at the moment, and I will be in due course. I have a few script re-writes to do and then I can get the shoot organised. However, it’ll be sharing time with another project I have.
That project is ’911: Suspend Your Disbelief’, a 9/11 Truth documentary that has been born out of several years of researching, for my own personal benefit, the events prior, during and after September 11th and how the official version of events is a complete and utter total lie. This documentary will be produced almost entirely using stock footage, photographs, diagrams and a few pieces of live footage that I intend to shoot myself. I’ve completed the first phase of my research and am beginning to form the basics of an outline for the script at the moment. I’m hoping to have it finished before I move to Headingley and begin University at Leeds.
And to add to all that, we’re having a ‘Joe’ production meeting on Sunday August 16th where we will be discussing shooting 3-4 more episodes featuring our favourite caveman pet, before we move onto other ideas. The character is in demand and we love him!
So with all this on the go, I’m doing my best to keep busy whilst not overloading myself too much. I have a couple of film reviews stored up in the old grey matter that I want to put on the blog very soon, and am looking forward to ‘Inglorious Basterds’, ‘District 9′ and ‘Surrogates’ with baited breath; not to mention ‘The Time Travellers Wife’ which could be the geek-chick-flick of the decade if its been done right.
Good night, and good luck.
